Oh, hai

I know, it’s been a very long while since I’ve last updated (as if anyone reads this blog)…

School as been kicking our ass lately. We just got done with Religion (which was by far our favorite class so far!) and now we’re in Bio 101. And not really enjoying it. The instructor is big on drawing and talking. Not to mention our class is pretty huge. Probably our biggest class so far so that’s surprising. After this we get Algebra I and Algebra II. I am not looking forward to that at all!

Yesterday was a sort of relaxing day. As relaxing as it could be with allergies attacking me hardcore.

Went on a sushi date with the husband, sad to find out that our sushi place raised their prices… again. And even though we only go for happy hour, it was still $5 more than what we usually spend. The food, as always was delicious though.

I’ve been trying to get into the habit of drinking water. My parents have a case of these mini water bottles and I find them easier to finish drinking than your standard water bottle. I’m not really use to drinking water and I don’t really enjoy it but because the weather is getting MUCH warmer, I NEED to start drinking water! I’ve been good about it so far!

I finally spotted blue orchids!! My cousin had posted a picture of these exact ones a few months ago but she’s in Alaska so imagine my excitement when I found these!! Husband didn’t let me take them home though, which is fine since my mom is a total orchid addict and she probably would had stolen it from me (like the orchid he bought me for Valentines Day that one year)!

He did buy me my new favorite ice cream from Fentons — Vanilla Cherry (and he even got me a waffle cone) to help ease my allergies which helped for a little while, but they got so bad that he insisted we go home. I was a mess! Oh how I hate allergy season!!

I’ll try to do a better job with updating this blog. I gotta get to networking too and finding a presentable layout. But school has got me so busy lately… *sigh.

Oh! I did manage to schedule a dentist appointment for M today. I was hoping to get him in this week but they were all booked up so he’s going in on Monday. Believe it or not he hasn’t been to the dentist in years and a few years ago a hole popped up in his tooth. We didn’t have money or insurance to fix it but now that it’s sort of getting worse, I’m making him go. You never really realize how important having insurance is until you’re older and you don’t have it anymore…

Bits of our weekend

Original & Blood Orange Pinkberry // Meeting Ari
Bacon Maple cupcake // nail polish & video games ♥

This is a recap of last last weekend. Not in order, because… I have no idea but it’s bothering me lol.

The other week we ventured over to my favorite mall which happens to be like an hour away to look for something for M to wear to the wedding, but came up empty handed. We had lunch at The Counter which is quickly turning into an addiction and we got somePinkberry since it’s been so long. And to be honest, I really wanted to try that cone circle thing (which was DELICIOUS). We got half original and half blood orange which was a really refreshing mix.

The next day was the wedding, we hung out nearby and got Krispy Kreme! I also may or may not have ran across the parking lot and street — in the rain — to get Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. I’ve been searching everywhere for them!! I was tempted to get two boxes, but I only got one. I’ll be good! We got to meet our niece Ari before the wedding, they gave her to me because Raena KNOWS I don’t like touching babies and no one wanted to take her! M kept poking her and she was squirming and making faces. Freaked me OUT! Haha. But he took her eventually (she slept through the whole ceremony) and he looked SO cute with her! He was talking to her and giving her kisses. Makes me a little sad that I swore off on not having kids. Sorry boo.

Spent the rest of the weekend painting my nails and playing video games (:

Bay Area adventures: Paris Baguette & Mochicream
Sunday lunch // headache cures // shredded squid!

This weekend was filled with my favorite thing… FOOD!!! On Friday M took me out on an adventure. We started with Paris Baguette in Palo Alto for lunch. That sandwich was delicious and the place was super affordable. Not to mention that the cafe was really cute. We spent a bit of the afternoon at the Stanford Shopping Center. I actually went into Sprinkles and didn’t get anything for the first time ever (GAAASP, I know) and we had a tackle fight in front of Sephora because I was trying to escape and he was trying to pull me away lol. Then we went to get his free chocolate bar for checking in via FourSquare which he named “Martin” because it had no brand name.

The rest of the weekend was spent well, eating. We had our usual Sunday lunch (Chipotle and Panera Bread) and we stopped by Target to get some stuff along with a Passion Tea Lemonade at Starbucks (why doesn’t the Target in our city have a Starbucks?!) to try to ease my headache, which usually works. Came home and snacked on my childhood favorite… shredded squid!

I’m starting to feel a little under the weather, hopefully it passes. M on the other hand is being a big baby and swearing like he’s sicker than me and cooing for attention. Boys!

Leap Day!

HAPPY LEAP DAY!

I sort of wish I had been able to go to a Disney park for One More Day but reading the tweets through out the day… I can’t handle being at a Disney park when it’s super packed so I probably would had been unhappy lol.

My day wasn’t too excited.

I started the day doing laundry, it was raining pretty hard last night so it was still pretty cold and gloomy but you know… I prefer to do laundry when no one’s home/awake. So I was done putting stuff in the washer and what do I spot? This!

2 out of the 5 stray kittens that have been around since December. These two were totally scoping out the inside of the house. One of the other ones was behind them. Every time I’d walk up to the door, they would run, but the one on the left kept coming back. I felt so bad for them! I’m sure they were cold. I would happily let them in, if my dad wouldn’t had freaked the fuck out lol!

Bits of my weekend

Multitasking // Google cars?!
Books for review // Sunday lunches ♥ // Panda Express Hot & Sour soup!

This weekend was full of procrastination, homework and trying not to be so down and out! Who knew being stuck on a pretty weekend at home doing homework could be so depressing?! I did manage to launch my food/resturant review blog and I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now to gather content!

Chiptole/Panera Bread Sunday lunches are my fav! I tried a Strawberry Hot Cross Bun for the first time. I wasn’t impressed! Panda Express also brought back their Hot & Sour soups! I’m so excited!  I was obsessed with these before they stopped serving them a few years ago.

Also, has anyone else heard of this Google Self Driving Car??

Valentines Day ♥

As I mentioned before (I think), M and I didn’t have any plans to celebrate Valentines Day (*cough). And the day of Valentines Day, we had class. He did get me a card and a box of my favorite chocolates (which are still sitting in the car along with the box of chocolates I bought myself because I’m pretty damn forgetful like that).

The card from M, my favorite chocolates from my mama and on the right are roses and a gift from my mama.

What’s for dinner?

(Yes, this is a slight attempt to blog something, ANYTHING at this point)

Last night I got a nice little intense painful visit from the headache fairy monster. I was feeling a little sick and I’m not really sure why… besides that everyone in this house has been coughing. Makes me want to walk around with a mini Lysol can and spray as I walk. How’s that for obsessive compulsive (disorder)? But I was also really cold (I need to start taking iron pills, like, soon. I don’t know what I’m so afraid of). So I took a Tylenol PM and that didn’t work any kind of magic on me. It didn’t even make me drowsy, which I think was the most disappointing part. I hope I’m not building tolerance cause that would really suck.

So I woke up this morning in even more pain than I went to sleep in and M was rubbing my head, giving me kisses and assuring me that I could sleep for a little longer. I eventually woke up at 1PM because really, most of my day is already gone and I was going to waste more of it. The worst part about headaches is getting up after laying down.

After attempting to freeze it away with my most-of-the-time effective method, we went out for lunch. M was saying he’d let me have ice cream and an Advil for lunch if it made me feel better (GAASP, I shoulda cashed out on that) but I decided on Wild Rice Soup from Panera Bread instead (because I’m a responsible adult)! I tried a new salad too, the Thai Chopped… one? I’m desperately searching to replace my BBQ Chicken one (cause really, 4 years is a long time to be eating the same salad) and I LOVE it!!!

A bit of a change…

Since I’m not completely WordPress savvy (and I wish I was considering I’ve had WordPress since ’09 and all…) I’m doing the best I can with editing this theme to my liking. I’m really hoping I don’t get tired of it within the next few days. Or weeks. Or months.

It’s not that I completely forgot about this blog (because I haven’t), I just never know what to talk about. When I started our first marriage blog, it was a little easier to find things to talk about since we were newlyweds and within the first year of marriage there’s always a lot to say but now that we’re not really newly newlyweds, there isn’t much that surprises me or irritates me enough to talk about. So what do you talk about then?

I dunno. But when I figure it out, I’ll let you know.

At any rate, this has been my view of the hubs lately…

Now I’m normally not one of those wives who hate when their husband’s play video games. It’s part of M‘s nature. Like if he had a natural surrounding, it would be video games. But when he plays this game, I get a little irritated. My buddy from Disney told him to download it cause it was free on PSN awhile ago so I can’t get too mad since my buddy and hubs have video games and electronics in common. Whatever, that’s cool. But what DOES irritate me is that when he’s in a “raid” or a mission, he completely ignores me. Like, I’m not even there. I get he has to be in the zone or whatever but to completely ignore me like I didn’t say anything?! If I had angry smileys, there would be an army here.

And it kinda irritates me that he talks to all these people on his game and I sit here in my lonely sad corner not talking to anyone. It’s kinda just… ugh, I don’t know. I don’t mean to complain and sulk, but this is a blog, I’m entitled to every now and then right?

I don’t want him to stop playing his game and I can’t play with him (since we only have one PS3 and one TV and all) so I don’t really know what a solution is. I try to get him to invest at least a half hour of his time elsewhere, but sometimes I forget to remind him and other times things here are just so stressful that I don’t bother saying anything. At least one of us has an outlet.

Do any of you ever feel this way?

Adventures in… ear flushing

So about once a year I usually get my ears flushed. Usually my right ear gets plugged up first making sleeping on my right side very uncomfortable and that sucks because the lamp is to my left, so I spend the night attempting to sleep while facing the light.

So why don’t I turn off the light?

I can’t sleep in the dark.

Even in my apartment, I would leave the closet light on. I need light, somewhere. This use to bother my husband, but he’s grown use to it. What a good sport!

So anyway, the last time I went to the doctor to get my ears flushed, they mentioned you could easily do this at home. Here’s the deal with my husband and someone saying “you can do this at home”, he’ll do it. He will watch very carefully, ask questions and then, attempt to do it at home. I seemed to have missed this considering the assistant was flushing my ear while telling him this and it was a glob of earwax that was not coming out. I was too focused on how squishy the inside of my ear sounded.

So, it’s now that time of the year again (I really should do this twice a year to prevent my right ear epic build up) where I need to flush my ears. So husband got an earwax removal kit. Oh.

Here’s the difference between this and what I’m use to. When I call the hospital to set a flushing appointment, they tell me I need to “prep” with drops. So I skip it and I just spring it on them after a check up or something and I don’t use the drops. They just go straight to the flushing. Well, with the home kit, there’s drops and for some reason, this freaks me the fuck out. I read reviews and I have a blogger friend who does this and they say you’ll here “fizzing” and “popping” which means the solution is working then you flush. I’ll hear WHAT and WHAT? Hell no.

So last night I decided to skip the drops and go straight to the flushing. It wasn’t that bad but it sure didn’t help either. Like, at all. My blogger friend even commented that I was brave for attempting such a thing and assured me (again) the drops were the easy part. So later today, we’ll attempt the drops then the flushing. But let me tell you, I’m not excited.

2012, when are you going to get better?

This time, last year, we would be having the time of our lives.

But this year? Not so much.

A lot is going on at home right now and it’s making it difficult to adjust to. I wish I could say more, but I don’t really want to talk about it, at least not right now. School isn’t going too well either, I just failed a class that cost about $2,000. Even though I worked really hard, all because the teacher didn’t care enough to teach. I’m not usually one to complain or “report” people, but I’m not paying $2,000 a class to be ignored and for someone to have the nerve to get an attitude with my husband when he’s simply just asking for help on an assignment. You’re a teacher, if you don’t want the job then leave and give it someone who does! So now I have to figure out how to fix this because apparently if you fail a class it comes out of your pocket. And just a bunch of other things that go along with school, like what the hell is going on with our grant.

The beginning of the year has been slow. Filled with school, stress, anxiety, adjusting and kittens.

The year so far, in Instagram form!
